Bombastic StarLeague 11

Greetings to all Bombastic StarCraft’ers!

We managed to get through 2020 - here’s to us, you magnificent nerds. Last year we ran three seasons of the Bombastic StarLeague and we thought we’d fancy doing that again (we mean three more seasons of the BSL, not 2020).

While the whole year hasn’t been planned out just yet, one thing is a given - the eleventh installment in the BSL series is just around the corner. How soon? Next week? Next month? Are we teasing too much?

Before we jump into the technical part of the whens and whats and hows, we’d like to preface by thanking eSport.fund for once again stepping in and providing us with the necessary financial support to keep churning out StarCraft events. They love Brood War and, guess what, so do we.

Of course we’d be amiss to forget about the community who chipped in big-time (we’re looking at youse, Purepat and Crvt) as well as the horde of BSL Patrons (Specially STRFKR, StRyKeR, Andrei (qkrorlqr) and more), whose contributions made this coming season of the BSL possible. We’d like to thank the community for the support we’ve received over the past few seasons and we hope the fruits of our labour will once again live up to everyone’s expectations.

Key Information

BSL11 Proleague will have a whopping prize pool of 5,000$ with an additional 500$ in prizes for the remaining divisions and tournaments.

During BSL11 we will continue to run three separate skill-based divisions, catering to the needs of both experienced players and newcomers to the scene alike. If we will have a large number of competitors signed up for ChoboLeague, we will divide it for a few smaller divisions - also-skill based.

Every Saturday and Sunday we will have ProLeague cast, every Tuesday and Thursday we will have GosuLeague casts, Choboleague cast dates will be announced.

The fun doesn’t stop there - here’s a few bonus goals / rewards to sweeten the deal:

  1. If we reach ~$3500 in donations during BSL Season 11, eSport.fund will extend their support through BSL Season 12* (same prize pool and format as BSL11).
    a) BSL Season 12 is set to start right after the BSL Season 11;
    b) TOP4 ProLeague and TOP4 GosuLeague players of BSL Season 11 will be seeded into BSL Season 12 ProLeague.
  2. The TOP 3 finishers from BSL Season 11 and BSL Season 12 (if it will happen) will get a direct seed into the Ro16 of RCG 2021. (Sick crossover episode, btw.)

This is also the bit where we invite you to visit the eSport.fund website and show them your gratitude.

How do I sign up?

  1. Create a new account using the BSL- tag on any gateway
    BSL-YourNickName, e.g.: BSL-Hatchet, BSL-Awerti, BSL-ZZZero, ... NOT BSL11-!
  2. Head over to: https://bombasticstarleague.com/
  3. Register on the site and add your in-game account to the rankings
  4. Launch StarCraft: Remastered and start laddering! The Ladder Stage commences on January 23 and closes on February 14 at 23:59 CET

If you want to play a SMURF during a ladder stage, you must notify Admins about it. This information will remain among BSL admins until the end of the ladder phase. People who qualify on a smurf without notifying the administrators will be removed from the tournament.

How do I qualify for each division?

  1. The top 4 players from the Ladder Stage get seed into BSL11 ProLeague Ro16 [Required minimum 50 games]
  2. The top 5 - 28 players from the Ladder Stage get seeded into BSL11 ProLeague Ro24 [Required minimum 40 games]
  3. Players ranked #29 to #61 from the Ladder Stage get seeded into BSL11 GosuLeague [Required minimum 30 games]
  4. All remaining Ladder Stage participants who completed at least 20 ladder games get seeded into BSL11 ChoboLeague [ChoboLeague might be divided into few tiers - depends on number of participants]

After ladder stage is done, confirm your participation on BSL Discord

Continue improving your BSL ladder placement even after qualifying - the player with the higher ladder placement will be given priority during map vetoes in Ro8.
